Illegal aliens granted Social Security

One of the most incomprehensible actions taken by the United States Senate is that which allows illegal aliens to collect Social Security. It is true. The Senate, during the debate on issues related to Immigration Reform, defeated an amendment proffered by Senator John Ensign that would forbid illegal aliens from benefiting from illegally obtained money they paid into the Social Security Trust Fund. The vote was 50 to 49 to defeat the amendment. This is in the face of the fact that the money paid into the Fund was obtained through forged or stolen documents! For comparison, let’s say a man robs a bank of a large sum of money, but is not apprehended. He invests the money in the stock market. Later, it is found that he had stolen the money; however, not only is it “voted” that he be “forgiven” his crime of robbery, he is allowed to keep the profits he made on his investments! Go figure! One Senator said that it wouldn’t be fair to deny him his benefits because he worked so hard for them. Tell this to honest American citizens whose only income is money they get from Social Security savings—savings that are legally theirs. Sooner or later the well will run dry. Who will be partly the cause? You're right, the Senate for having helped it dry up.
