Shortly after I raised a small flag of hope -- that, on the basis of Iraq's showing a modicum of "warmth" toward Christians (showing a painting of Jesus held up with an air balloon) along with a token declaration that all Muslims were Christians for the day, the terrorist group Hamas began, and continued, lobbing rockets into the Gaza strip in defiance of Israel and what was hoped to be a continuing peace plan. Of course this action on Hamas' part upset the whole attempt for peace in the Mideast (at least for a time). Of course Israel retaliated, sending two waves of fighter planes and helicopter gun planes into the area. Using excellent intelligence, they had earlier spotted the hiding places of the Hamas, and promptly pummeled them as they deserved. There was absolutely no reason for Hamas to lob rockets and bombs onto Israel positions in the Gaza. Hundreds of innocent persons were killed, including the most innocent of all, the children. At this writing, Israel is continuing their thumping, with no announced plan to stop. The Hamas has no chance of defeating the Israeli forces, of course. It's said that should the attack from air not accomplish what the Israeli want, they plan to attack from ground strategic positions mainly to take prisoners and to rattle the cages of some of the higher lot of militant activists. This should bring the terrorists under control.
Of course, the usual cries of "foul" are sent into the air, and the usual extreme left is blaming Israel; however, there's little on which the can base their cries. Hamas is totally wrong, and must face the consequences. I hope they learn a strong lesson. God bless Israel and its allies. We are among those asking for God's prayers.

A few comments at end of 2008
I've several things about which to comment. One -- a strange one to be sure -- was an article telling of an almost unheard of event. The leader of the Iraqi Legislative Branch allowed a painting of Jesus to be raised and held in the air by a balloon, and in Baghdad! and an even more unheard of event. On the day Jesus' painting was raised he said that all Muslims were Christians for the day. I have mixed feeling about it; however, that he did this in the midst of the most sensitive group of "believers in Islam" without causing a riot and a Christian killing or two is remarkable. Do you think that it was a gesture of thankfulness that the U.S. has saved their butts from Hussein? or just a political prank? I decided to consider it a gesture of friendliness! Perhaps it will spread and we will have the beginning of better relationship. What say you?
The other things about which I'd like to comment are related, and have to do with statistics. There's been more than enough complaining about the high cost of the "war" in Iraq -- the high cost of maintaining pressure against terrorists. To get a different perspective of the situation, someone gathered statistics of the cost of the war and compared them with the statistics of the cost to us caused by the illegal aliens in our midst. The person, to avoid arguments about the statistics related to the illegal aliens gave the URLs that backed up the numbers. I tell you that the people of the United States are really being taken to the cleaners. The cost to our citizens caused by the illegal aliens come mighty close to what the confrontation in Iraq is costing -- and don't forget, the cost of running the war in Iraq is coming to an end and will probably be only a small percentage (to maintain some soldiers as a gesture) of what it currently is costing. Unless the illegal alien problem is solved, it till go on and on. And what a stupid thing it is to continue. All that has to be done is to enforce laws that would end the problem. Why aren't the laws enforced? And why don't the "bleeding heart" population stop putting the illegal aliens' issues before indigenous citizens'? Another thing: Illegally declaring cities sanctuaries for the aliens has to stop -- all over the United States, not only in a few states. Judicial Watch climbed all over Phil Gordon (Mayor of Phoenix) for his role as a "sanctuarian"! He reversed his position, and now has put his OK on Phoenix police checking on the "legality" of those they have detain to check out for whatever reason. It's possible that his turn of heart may be for political reasons, of course. Profiling is not forbidden -- at least for the present. And, really, who needs profiling? There is no doubt who is illegal without having to take DNA! We've got to stop being so politically correct! It's stupid, has no basis in fact and is costing us a bundle -- a bundle that could well be used to take care of those of our citizens who have come onto hard times. Agreed?
I'm afraid, though, that B. Hussein Obama will prioritize the illegal alien issue and will get an amnesty law through before we can see a drop in the population of those who are here illegally. Any amnesty must be resisted. Get your faxes, your letters, you telephone calls and your emails on the way to your representatives so they know your feelings about spending so much money on those who are "takers and not givers." You can't be too early resisting such an audacious plan as the most liberal democrat in the history of the United States. Resist any movement by the new administration that has "give-away" smeared all over it. We have far too many indigenous citizens hurting to be taking care of a bunch of law-breakers who don't deserve it. Remember, the 525 members in Washington work for you. You are their boss; don't let them get away with a thing!
All of the concern about amnesty for illegal aliens, increase in taxes, loading the Supreme Court of the United States may be in vain if what is suspected about the illegitimacy of B. Hussein Obama's holding the seat of the President of the United States is true. It may cause him to be thrown on the garbage heap. The trouble of getting him elected may have been a waste of time. There still are several suits before the Court regarding Obama's being eligible for the spot.
Whether enough members of the U.S. Supreme Court, seeing that there are questions of his eligibility, will have cajones to put a stop to the whole silly affair is yet to be seen. From MY VIEW, the vote should be 9-0 against him; however, there is that "liberal" group who may be too vociferous and may influence the "conservatives". If there is the slightest doubt, the decision should be made in favor of the Constitution and "We the People . . . .". There will be other candidates, and other times for eligible candidates. There is only ONE Constitution, and it's done us well for over 200 years. I don't think we have to be "nice" to someone just because "he's gone through so much, is Black and is "almost" a natural born citizen (poor baby!) No way! Our Constitution is the most revered document in the world -- and there has never had another like it. It must stay as it is. Further, it must never be changed to "fit the times". The "times" should be the least reason for which it is changed. The words of this God-given document are clear, were written as inspired by God, and certainly don't have to be changed at the whim of some activate judge! He's small potatoes when it comes to the beauty of our "rock-of-Gibraltar" Constitution!
I'm getting tired of 545 elected and appointed persons having so much control over the remaining population of the United States. I'm getting tired of politically correct words having such power to influence the way in which the majority of our citizens are "controlled". We have some of the most arrogant people in the world in positions of "authority" who make it miserable for the rest of us. Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, are absolutely the most dangerous persons in our legislative body in Congress. They have far to much "power"; and from what I've seen by their actions, they plan to use it as it suits them, and not for the American people. And, I'm getting really tired of those who sit on their duffs and don't go to the ballot booth and vote them out of their powerful positions. They are pushing the envelope to the edge of socialism. And with B. Hussein Obama, they have a champion who will lead this country in that direction. God protect us. All this pessimism comes at the end of 2008! I hope and pray that 2009 is a far better year, and that the Lord has better things planned for us. And, I pray that He has better things planned for you. May he bless you and bring you into 2009 healthy, full of Love and Goodness. My prayers are for you, your family and all with whom you come into contact. I pray for my family, too.

Happy New Year!
A new year is exciting for me. I guess it was because my family had rather big celebrations during this time of year -- and had such good fellowship. One thing I remember that helped end the "old" year on a good note was the warning given by my maternal grandmother. She warned that how ever one ended the old year, they could be sure that the new year would begin the same way, and keep being that way for months on end. With this warning, you can be sure that we all did our best to end the old year being happy, truthful and with good plans. We didn't want any of the old year's "bad" getting into our lives. A good warning, don't you think? So, on this note and with this warning in mind, I hope all of you have a New Year full of love, goodness, health and good times. God bless you.

Been away too long!
Much of my time has been taken up with my Yahoo Group letter. I've never had so much about which to write as in recent months. Our country is in dire straits. The economy, the threat of political changes, the threat of a new president who is bound to change this country into a socialistic swamp -- all contribute to a possible breakdown in our Constitutional control. Few know it, but our standing army leaders have been quietly been planning the use of our armed forces to assist civilian and National Guard personnel should there be civil unrest brought on by the failing economy. There will be the problem of outside attacks with which to contend, too. All in all we are in for difficulties not seen for ninety or so years. I'll try to spend more time defining the situation -- yet keep my other contacts with my group as before.
