President now dragging his feet

Congress has passed the bill enabling the fence between Mexico and the United States to be built; however, the President is delaying signing it until a few weeks before November election. Here's a perfect example of how politics is playing games with our security. I plan to write to the President to voice my concern that, perhaps, he isn't as interested in our security as he says he is. I think that we need to get cracking in our writing our representatives -- including the President, telling them that we can't take any more politics, political correctness and game playing. Agreed?

Congress is still dragging feet

Though some progress is made regarding plugging loopholes, getting tunnel digging stopped and allowing local law enforcement personnel to assist the Border Patrol, not much has been accomplished. True, 700 miles of fence has been authorized; however, not providing money to build it is all the same as not approving it. When will Congress and the Administration come alive in Washington, D.C.? We have a crisis on our hands and they sit on their thumbs grandstanding for "the people back home." After all it is election year for many, and many are doing all they can to get elected back to their "cushy" jobs -- out of sight of their consituents, and hopefully out of their minds. How wrong they are. We will never give up our right to be our own government. "We the people . . . " is too precious a concept to give up with out a fight like no one has ever seen. Power to the people!
